Job Overview

FBD requires a QA Analyst with strong business process and analysis skills to lead out on business quality assurance tasks for changes implemented within the Underwriting function. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious career orientated person to join the Underwriting Change team.

Job Responsibilities


•    Reporting to the Underwriting Change Manager, take the role of ensuring the changes released into Production are implemented as per the agreed requirements and that our Underwriting processes work as expected
•    Collaborate and work closely with our Underwriting Operations Managers to ensure we have the correct data to complete our quality assurance tasks
•    Develop comprehensive and well defined quality assurance test cases and ensure traceability back to requirements
•    Execute business process functional testing both pre and post implementation where deemed necessary
•    Collaborate with our Underwriting Product Owner and IT Test Lead to ensure any defects found are logged and actioned correctly
•    Provide post implementation support to Underwriting for all relevant changes implemented
•    Work closely with the relevant Product Owner to ensure the quality assurance plan is in place for implementation and ensuring the business are prepared for changes implemented 
•    Work closely with our Documentation manager to build out a quality assurance plan to ensure all our customer documentations are thoroughly checked annually and plans are put in place to ensure any changes required are brought through the correct channels for prioritisation and implementation
•    Work with our data analysts to ensure the correct data is in place to execute agreed quality assurance plans
•    Review and interrogate available data sources to execute agreed quality assurance plans
•    Proactively work with the business to identify and resolve gaps in our quality assurance framework
•    Input into relevant quality assurance reporting mechanisms e.g. quarterly UW QA report
•    Be an effective change agent and advocate for innovation
•    Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders in Underwriting, IT and other key functions within the business where relevant

Experiences

  • Experience of TIA, Fineos or Progen insurance applications is desirable

Competencies

  • A sound working knowledge of general insurance products, processes and systems/platforms is desirable
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Good analytical, investigative and problem solving skills
  • Ability to interpret user requirements and functional specifications and apply that information to plan and develop quality assurance tests
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative in order to meet personal and departmental targets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills together with an approach that encourages open discussion and collaborative resolution to challenges
