Job Overview

FBD’s strategy includes the objective to profitably grow our Commercial Lines Business.

We are seeking to appoint a Commercial Business Underwriting Team Leader to support the continued growth of our Commercial Business across Commercial Property and Liability lines of business.

Job Responsibilities

Working closely with and reporting to the Commercial Underwriting Operations Manager the successful person will be results and service focused and key responsibilities will include;

  • Support achievement of profitability and revenue targets per the annual plan.
  • Support and implement FBD Strategy in Commercial Business Underwriting.
  • Develop and implement overall service level agreements to ensure excellent service is provided to FBD Sales Branches and our Broker panel.
  • Provide technical referral support to the team, Sales and Claims colleagues on technical queries.
  • Implementing and report on quality assurance measures to ensure business is underwritten to the required standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Implement, administer, and report to relevant stakeholders on underwriting strategies and objectives.  
  • Manage the performance of the team to support achievement of objectives.
  • Ensure staff receive the appropriate training and development to optimise performance.
  • Ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are met.
  • Ability to manage and support a team in both operational and technical environments. 

Education

Achieved a professional insurance qualification qualified to a minimum level of Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP).
