Job Overview
As a QA Analyst, you will perform all testing activities required in each sprint to ensure that the quality of software being released into production is of a consistently high standard.
We are currently migrating our legacy system over to TIA, a web-based policy administration system where we are building and delivering new products and features across the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Working in an Agile environment, typically to sprints every two weeks, analysing requirements to ensure they are testable.
- Creating feature files and collaborating with other areas of the business including Business Analysts and Developers.
- Developing comprehensive and well defined test cases and test scripts and ensure traceability back to requirements.
- Executing functional, non-functional, regression and integration test scripts.
- Providing metrics for all testing activities including planning, preparation, execution, defects.
- Participating in defect triage discussions.
- Providing post implementation support to the Business.
- Interrogating the underlying databases to extract test data and execute SQL statements to prove test results.
Education
- ISTQB (or equivalent) Foundation Level certification is desirable.
Experiences
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a QA Analyst role, preferably in financial services and in product delivery.
- Experience with eCommerce/Web solutions.
- Experience and understanding of insurance products is desirable.
- Experience of TIA, Fineos or Progen insurance applications would be of advantage.
- Experience working with JIRA and Test Management such asTestRail, TestPro and Zephyr would be of advantage.
- Demonstrable experience of writing SQL scripts for data extraction and validation purposes.
Competencies
- A sound working knowledge of General Insurance products, processes and systems/platforms would be of advantage.
- Knowledge of API / webservice testing tools such as SOAPUI.
- Knowledge of Selenium Webdriver with Java and Cucumber would be an advantage but not essential.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret user requirements, detailed technical and functional specifications and apply this information to plan, develop and execute test scenarios and scripts.
- A good working knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal,
- Proactive, willingness to take the initiative and associated responsibility,
