Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a data curious QA Analyst to join our team responsible for the development and maintenance of our data warehouse and related applications. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team working closely with developers, data specialists and other QAs in a collaborative and agile working environment.
The QA Test Analyst will perform all testing activities required to ensure that the quality of software being released into production is of a consistently high standard. They will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of tests in line with agreed plans and strategies.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the relevant IT and business stakeholders to identify requirements (functional and non-functional) for testing.
- Analyse requirements in the form of user stories, technical and functional specifications to ensure they are testable.
- Write concise and clear test approach documentation based on analysis of complex requirements.
- Develop comprehensive and well defined test cases and test scripts, ensuring traceability back to requirements
- Take ownership for any defects encountered, logging these clearly and liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure quick resolution.
- Providing metrics for all testing activities including planning, preparation, execution and defects.
- Providing post implementation support to system end-users.
Education
- Third Level Qualification in Computer Science / IT or relevant work experience.
- ISTQB foundation level certificate.
- MS/Azure certifications desirable.
Experiences
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a QA Analyst role with proven experience with ETL and database testing.
- Strong experience with SQL and stored procedure testing with the ability to write SQL queries for testing purpose.
- A sound working knowledge of General Insurance products, processes and systems/platforms would be an advantage.
- Experience working with JIRA and Test Management tools such as TestRail, TestPro or Zephyr would be an advantage.

This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract role. This role sits within Pay Band C of FBD’s IT Function Pay band.
