About the Role

The Sustainability Intern will be a temporary member of the broader Finance Team, reporting to the ESG Reporting and Assurance Analyst.

The role will be focused on the completion of a survey to gain insight into the breakdown of commuting methods used by FBD’s employees. 

This will be used in turn to enhance the accuracy of FBD’s reported greenhouse gas emissions. The role would suit someone who has a keen analytical mind with an interest in environmental, social and governance issues and how the business can positively impact climate change.

Job Responsibilities

  •          Oversee the design and circulation of a survey to gather data about the commuting methods used by FBD’s employees.
  •          Collate the results of the commuting survey and assist with using this data to enhance the calculation of FBD’s emissions from employee commuting.
  •          Compare the results of the commuting survey to commuting data gathered by the CSO as part of the 2022 Census.

Job Responsibilities

  •          Support in drafting key non-financial disclosures including the CSRD and EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Activities disclosure.
  •          Engage with other stakeholders across the business to ensure a high level of responses to the commuting survey and that best practices are being followed with respect to data protection.

Education

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent and/or a relevant third level qualification.

Experiences

  • ·         Experience in designing, circulating and interpreting surveys highly desirable.
  • ·         Experience and knowledge of ESG standards and reporting requirements desirable but not essential.
