About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Motor Schemes Underwriting Team Lead to support the delivery of growth objectives on motor schemes business, including Taxi business, through profitable underwriting of motor risks within agreed authority levels whilst developing key partner relationships.

Job Responsibilities

Working closely with the Motor Class Lead and Technical Underwriting Operations Manager to support achievement of portfolio objectives the successful person will be results and service focused.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Execution of Motor Schemes strategy to positively impact account performance, including risk level assessment and selection.
  • Delivering planned growth and profitability results through the effective underwriting of cases within own Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA).
  • Managing the performance of the team to support achievement of objectives.
  • Develop positive relationships with scheme partners to develop business, provide quality service and use expertise and experience to support common business objectives.
  • Provide technical referral support to the team, Sales and Claims colleagues on technical queries.
  • Support a high-performance culture within the team through participation in training and internal Quality Assurance activities.
  • Ensuring that staff receive the appropriate training and development to optimise team performance.
  • Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are met.

Education

Achieved a professional insurance qualification qualified to a minimum level of Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP).

This role will be based in our Head Office - Dublin 12. We currently operate a hybrid model of 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.

 

This role sits within the pay grade D within FBD's Underwriting Department.
