Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a versatile, analytical and highly motivated Junior Software Engineer to support in evaluating and troubleshooting our systems. Successful candidates will work closely with the business and IT teams through the provision and management of software fixes and enhancements to business systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify, investigate and resolve a range of technical issues affecting business systems by exceeding target SLAs
- Develop strong working relationships with key business members, IT project and development teams and relevant 3rd party vendors
- Escalate high impacting incidents where appropriate and follow up to ensure resolution
- Assist in the change request process for the applications, verify plans and raise change requests
- Demonstrate flexibility to cope with changing demands based on business priority
- Support of system deployments from business and liaising with 3rd party vendors where relevant
- Organising meetings with members of the business, IT and 3rd party vendors to discuss system issues
Education
- IT 3rd Level technical qualification (e.g. computer science degree or similar)
Competencies
- Understanding of the SDLC
- Experience in a technical delivery role with a demonstrable ability to deal with a wide range of business areas and 3rd party vendors
- Understanding of ITIL IT Incident and Change processes
- Understand IT support services focused on service improvement to identify potential incidents before they occur
- Strong software troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A self-starter with an ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of all aspects of software project life cycles – from requirements gathering, through design, development and Implementation
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
