About the Role
Reporting to the Claims Manager- Direct Settlement Motor Team, the successful candidate will assist in delivering excellence in claims management with particular focus on: developing individual handling expertise; delivering cost effective settlement outcomes; assuring quality and compliance; driving operational efficiency; and embedding continuous improvement aligned with the company strategy.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor workflow, (to include telephony, electronic correspondence, mail) outstanding caseloads, processes, tasks and distribution of new claims ensuring that work is allocated to handlers that have the appropriate level of experience and proficiency to resolve the case cost efficiently and effectively.
- Driving best practice handling behaviour that supports attention to detail, challenge to service provider views, independent decision making, a proactive philosophy to information fathering, investigation and evaluation and availing of every opportunity to settle in the most cost effective settlement channel, with particular focus on the development and improvement in the FNOL process to deliver a premium customer and employee experience in line with strategic goals.
- Managing the performance management cycle, including setting personal business objectives, tracking results against target, conducting interim and annual reviews and collating final assessment ratings.
- Conducting regular quality assurance reviews.
Job Responsibilities
- Continuously train, coach, mentor and motivate members of the team.

- Track leakage and fraud defences, including the capture of critical data and referral of suspicious cases.
- Collate monthly presentation and deliver content with Claims Manager at team meetings.
- Reinforce culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the team.
- Assisting in managing a compliance and control mind-set that ensures that all activities (including handling of complaints) are undertaken to the highest standards of customer service and in strict compliance with FBD’s regulatory and other obligations. Ensuring controls (particularly reserving controls) are operating effectively and accurately.
Education
- The candidate will ideally have a minimum of a third level degree and or professional qualification in Insurance, Accounting, Auditing or Risk Management discipline.
- Qualified to Approved Product Advisor (APA), Approved Product Professional (APP) or Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP) is essential

This role sits within the D pay grade in the Claims department.
